The RDS commissioned a report on the evaluation of a STEM project for primary level teachers. STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Our brief was to design the Executive summary document and design a new cover for the full report titled “Evaluation of the Pilot STEM Project”. We were also asked to produce an infographic to explain the 4 levels of the STEM project. The design needed to relate to Primary School teachers and the subject matter of the pilot.
We wanted this project to stand out and tie in with the subject matter of the STEM pilot programmes. After researching the types of tasks and contents involved in the programmes we used objects that the students might use to explore Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics. These objects are then placed in a grid like position which is appealing to the eye. We photographed the elements and then created the front covers. The inside pages use large quotes and a minimalist layout to keep it clear and concise. The infographic is created with lego, photographed and then we overlayed the image with the relevant text.
RDS were very happy with the work we did and they got a very positive response from those attending launch of the evaluation report.
